Court orders to seize tax files of ex-minister Tajul, wife

DHAKA, March 10, 2025 (BSS) - A court here today ordered to seize tax files of former local government and rural development minister Md Tajul Islam and his wife Foujia Islam over graft allegations.

Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Md Zakir Hossain Galib passed the order, allowing two separate pleas of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).

Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Deputy Director (public relations) Akterul Islam confirmed the matter to BSS.

The ACC in its plea against Tajul said the former minister acquired wealth of Taka 7.80 crore beyond his known source of income and made suspicious transactions through 35 bank accounts.

It also said his wife Foujia Islam amassed illegal wealth of Taka 6.90 crore and kept the properties under her possession.
