DHAKA, March 10, 2025 (BSS) - A court here today imposed a travel ban on former Rajshahi University Vice Chancellor Dr M Abdus Sobhan.

Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Md. Zakir Hossain Ghalib passed the order in reply to the plea of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC), said Akhtarul Islam, Deputy Director of the ACC Public Relations Department.

The plea said a three-member investigation team has been formed to investigate the allegations regarding abuse of power of Dr. Abdus Sobhan, embezzlement of a huge amount of public fund during his tenure through various irregularities and corruption, and appointment of 138 teachers/employees in violation of the ban of the ministry of education.

The complaint is currently under investigation and it is presumed that he is trying to flee abroad transferring illegally acquired property.
