DHAKA, Mar 12, 2025 (BSS) - Police arrested an alleged extortionist of Paltan area in the city along with a revolver on charge of extortion.

The arrestee was identified as Md Nuruzzaman Biplob, well known for extortionist in the area, said Paltan thana police.

Earlier, a patrol team of Paltan Police Station was in charge at Shantinagar area nearby Novera House around 6:50pm yesterday evening.

At that time, police arrested the accused extortionist while he was escaping after being caught by people while extorting money.

Later, the patrol police searched him and recovered a revolver of 0.32 bore.

Legal proceedings are going on against him.
