“Magura rape victim left us in tears and shame”- Mirza Fakhrul

DHAKA, Mar 13, 2025 (BSS) – BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir expressed deep shock and sorrow over the death of Magura rape victim saying the child has passed away leaving the whole nation in tears with shame and this feeling cannot be expressed in words.

In a condolence message, he prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed her deep condolences to bereaved family. 

He also demanded exemplary punishment of the culprits involved with the rape.

“It’s not possible to express in word how much shame and tears the child left for the world due to brutality of the rapists,” said Fakhrul.

The 8-year-old Magura rape victim passed away while undergoing treatment at Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in the capital around 1 pm today.

She was raped while visiting her sister's in-laws house recently.

On March 6, her sister's mother-in-law took the child to 250-bed hospital in Magura in an unconscious state. 

Later, she was shifted to Faridpur Medical College Hospital for better treatment. From there, she was sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital at night.

The next day, on the night of March 7, he was put on life support. The child was shifted from Dhaka Medical College Hospital to CMH in critical condition on the evening of March 8. 

He was kept on life support in the PICU of CMH in Dhaka until succumbed to injuries.
