4 drug peddlers held with 10,200 pieces of Yaba, car

DHAKA, March 15, 2025 (BSS) - Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan
Police (DMP) has apprehended four drug peddlers along with 10, 200 pieces of
Yaba tablets and a private car from the capital's Khilkhet area.

The arrested were identified as Laila Banu alias Rasheda Begum, 38, Abdus
Sattar alias Akash, 36, Md. Moklu Mia, 26 and Md. Sakhawat Hossain Shipon,
33, said a DMP media release today.

A Financial Crime Investigation Team of the DB-Cyber and Special Crime
(North) Division conducted a raid on Haji Almas Road in Namapara, Khilkhet at
8:55 pm on Tuesday and arrested them.

The seized private car used for transporting Yaba, said the release, adding,
the estimated value of the contraband drugs [Yaba] is Taka 20.40 lakh.

A case has been filed under the Narcotics Control Act at Khilkhet Police
Station against the arrestees.
