Fake army officer arrested in Savar

SAVAR, March 16, 2025 (BSS) - Police have arrested a man in Savar for impersonating a colonel in the army yesterday.

The cops recovered army uniform and military equipments from the suspect, identified as Aminur Rahman, 49. He was apprehended at Pakijar Mor in the Savar Poura area.

According to Md. Shahinur Kabir, additional superintendent of police (Savar Circle), Aminur Rahman had been using his fake military identity to engage in various fraudulent activities and had swindled money from unsuspecting individuals.

On information, police raided the area and found Aminur Rahman in possession of army attire, a walkie-talkie, and an army badge.

A case has been filed against him, and investigations are ongoing, he the police officer.

The arrest was confirmed during a press conference held today at the Savar Thana compound.
