DHAKA, March 17, 2025 (BSS) - A court here today convicted and sentenced one Arshad to life imprisonment in a case lodged over the rape of a seven-year-old child in South Keraniganj area in 2014.
 
Judge Munshi Md Moshiar Rahman pronounced the judgment in the presence of the convict and sent him back to jail with the conviction warrant.
 
According to the case documents, Arshad on September 2, 2014, raped the child in a house in Abdullahpur Korergaon area under South Keraniganj Police Station. 

The family of the victim rushed her to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH). The case was filed on September 5, next day of the incident, against the sole accused Arshad. Police on November 16, 2014, filed the charge sheet.
 
The court today came up with the judgment, after examining 10 witnesses on different hearing dates.
