RAB realizes Tk 1.70 lakh as fine for 3 semai, noodles producers

DHAKA, March 18, 2025 (BSS) - A mobile court of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) today realized Tk 1.70 lakh as fine from three food producers in Kamrangirchar and Keraniganj thana areas, on the outskirts of the capital city, allegedly for producing and selling semai and noodles in an unhygienic condition. 
 
RAB-2 mobile court led by Executive Magistrate Md. Abu Hasan conducted separate raids in two semai factories at Kamrangirchar and a noodle factory at Keraniganj from 11.30am to 3pm today and fined the money, said a RAB press release. 

Owners of two semai producing factories, Md. Monir Hossain of Mitali Traders and Abdur Rahman Akash of Nasir Traders were fined Tk 20,000 and Tk 50,000 respectively and owner of Premium Dragon Noodles Factory Aminul Islam Taka one lakh, it said. 

The raids were conducted as part of the anti-adulteration campaigns and it will continue throughout the holy month of Ramadan, it said.
