DHAKA, March 18, 2025 (BSS) – BNP acting Chairman Tarique Rahman has stood by traumatized Magura rape victim’s father who has been undergoing mental trauma in grief over his daughter’s tragic death.
Victim’s father, a farmer and van driver by profession, is unable to bear the tragic fate of his beloved little daughter as he is facing mental trauma.
As the matter came to attention of Tarique Rahman, he immediately asked the party's Health Affairs Secretary Dr. Md. Rafiqul Islam to take necessary measures to treat victim’s father.
Dhaka City South Jubo Dal Member Secretary Rabiul Islam Nayan made arrangements to bring the child's father to Dhaka on his own responsibility.
BNP Health Affairs Secretary Dr. Md. Rafiqul Islam made necessary arrangements for his admission and treatment at a specialized hospital in Dhaka under his supervision.
The eight-year-old child was raped on March 5 in Magura while visiting her sister's in-laws house. The next day, when her condition deteriorated, she was brought to Dhaka Medical College Hospital. On March 8, when her condition did not improve, she was shifted to the Combined Military Hospital. The child succumbed to her injuries on March 13.
Since the child's treatment began, Tarique Rahman has been directly monitoring her treatment and the coordinator of the healthcare cell was sent by him and BNP's health affairs secretary Dr. Md. Rafiqul Islam and his team have been providing all kinds of support to the child and her family.
At the instructions of Tarique Rahman, member secretary of Dhaka City South Jubo Dal Rabiul Islam Nayan has been staying beside the child's family since the beginning of this incident and has been providing all kinds of support.
