DHAKA, March 19, 2025 (BSS) - The name of the capital's Chandrima Udyan has been officially changed back to Zia Udyan.

The site, located in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar, here is known as the burial place of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) founder and former President Shaheed Ziaur Rahman, and its previous name has now been reinstated.

This decision was made public through a notification issued by the Ministry of Housing and Public Works today.

Signed by Naila Ahmed, joint secretary of the ministry, the notification referenced to Article 12.3 of the Advisory Council's meeting in the Cabinet Division, which authorized the restoration of the previous name "Zia Udyan" to replace the changed name "Chandrima Udyan".
