SUNAMGANJ, June 9, 2025 (BSS) - The Detective Branch (DB) of police today arrested a man and seized 16 kilograms of ganja from the Joykols area along the Sunamganj-Sylhet road in Shantiganj upazila of the district.

The arrestee, identified as Razzak Mia, is a resident of Kangaon village in Dirai upazila of the district.

Acting on a tip-off, a DB police team conducted a raid in the area, detained Razzak Mia, and recovered the contraband items. The law enforcers also seized a private car used for transporting the drugs.

Legal proceedings have been initiated against him, police said.
