KHULNA, April 15, 2025 (BSS) - The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) filed a case against Panchanan Biswas, former whip and parliament member from the Khulna-1 constituency (Dacop-Batiaghata), on charges of amassing illegal wealth.

Zahid Fazal, Assistant Director of the ACC's Khulna Integrated District Office, lodged the case as the plaintiff.

According to the case details, Panchanan Biswas acquired assets worth approximately Tk 1.6 crore that are inconsistent with his known sources of income.

The case alleged that the former lawmaker illegally amassed these assets while serving as both parliament member and a whip of the Jatiya Sangsad.

Md Abdul Wadud, deputy director of the ACC's Khulna office, stated that the case was filed following an inquiry initiated after a complaint was received against the former lawmaker.
