BGB brings back 55 fishermen from Myanmar

COX’S BAZAR, April 16, 2025 (BSS) – The Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) today brought back some 55 fishermen from Myanmar.

The fishermen were brought back through the Transit Ghat along the Naf River at Chowdhurypara under Taknaf Pourashava at 2:30 pm.

Teknaf-2 BGB Battalion Commander Lt. Col. Md Ashikur Rahman said Arakan Army took away the fishermen at different times from the Naf River and the Bay of Bengal.
 
On April 8, 2025, Arakan Army took away four trawlers with 23 fishermen on board to Myanmar.

Following several rounds of talks, Arakan Army released 55 fishermen and BGB brought them back to home today.
