He made the announcement at a press conference in front of the State Guest House Jamuna here after a meeting of the foundation's governing body.

Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus, who is also the president of the foundation, presided over the meeting held at the Jamuna this evening.

Snigdho said he is yet to complete his studies, so he was unable to fulfill all his responsibilities as the CEO due to his studies. "That's why I am resigning," he added.

However, he said he will remain on the governing body of the July Foundation as he was nominated as a governing body member at the meeting today.

Snigdho also said Lieutenant Colonel (retd) Kamal Akbar will serve as the new CEO of the July Foundation.

The July Shaheed Smriti Foundation was formed to ensure welfare of the uprising martyrs families and provide financial and humanitarian support for the victims' families.
