Lightning victims get support from Tarique Rahman

JHENAIDAH, May 10, 2025 (BSS) - Families of two farmers who died from lightning strikes recently in the district received financial assistance from BNP’s Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman.

Two farmers- Oliar Rahman of Bhabanipur village and Mirajul Islam of Paschim Bishoykhali village died recently as they were hit by bolt of lightning.

A delegation of Krishak Dal handed over the cheques of financial aid to the family members of the victims on behalf of Tarique Rahman today, party sources said.

Krishak Dal President Hasan Jafir Tuhin and General Secretary Shahidul Islam Babul led the delegation.

Krishak Dal leaders visited the graves of the deceased and offered prayers. They also expressed condolences to their bereaved families.

Oliar’s wife Shirina Khatun and daughter Antara Khatun received the assistance while Sohagi Begum, wife of Mirajul Islam received the cheque.

Former MP and Senior Joint Secretary General of Krishak Dal T.S. Ayub, Jhenaidah District BNP President Advocate M.A. Majid, Vice Presidents Munshi Kamal Azad Pannu, Anwarul Islam Badsha and Enamul Haque Mukul, General Secretary Zahiduzzaman Mona, Senior Joint Secretary Abdul Majid Biswas, District Krishak Dal President Osman Ali Biswas, Joint Secretary Mir Fazle Elahi Shimul, Asaduzzaman Asad, and Sadar Upazila BNP President Alamgir Hossain were present on the occasion.

Following the cheque distribution, the Krishak Dal leaders participated in a rally with local farmers.
