SIRAJGANJ, May 10, 2025 (BSS)- Sirajganj police has arrested a youth from Uttara of Dhaka city on charge of killing a SSC candidate Imon in Sirajgonj.
Arrested Sakib is the son of Ranjit Hossain of Naramuri village under Belkuchi Upazila of Sirajgonj district.
Police and victim’s family sources said Imon, 16, appeared in this year’s SSC examination from Khukni High School of Enayetpur thana.
Miscreants attacked Imon as he along with his friends went Daulatpur area on April 18. Miscreants chased Imon and his friends and beat up him mercilessly.
Critically injured Imon was taken to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries on April 25.
His father Imdadul Haque filed a murder case with Belkuchi thana accusing 10-12 persons on April 27.
Sakib, an accused of the case went into hiding after the killing, IO of the case sub-inspector Saiful Islam of Belckuchi Thana said.
