BSF pushes 44 people in Bangladesh

MOULVIBAZAR, May 14, 2025 (BSS) - Indian Border Security Force (BSF) today pushed 44 individuals inside Bangladesh through Uttar Shabazpur border in Borolekha upazila of the district, security and law enforcement officials said.

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) members detained the 44 people as they were pushed in through the border.

"We have detained them . . . interrogating to confirm their national identity," BGB-52 Captain Lieutenant Colonel Mehedi Hasan told reporters.

He said 13 of the 44 people were males, 18 females and the rest 13 children.

They were handed over to local police.
