Ex-DSCC mayor Taposh's "special assistant" Kamal remanded

DHAKA, May 15, 2025 (BSS) - A court here today placed one SM Kamal Haider, 
so-called "special assistant" to former mayor of Dhaka South City Corporation 
(DSCC) Fazle Noor Taposh, on a three-day remand in a killing case.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Sarah Farzana Haque passed the order as police 
produced Kamal before the court and pleaded to place him on a seven-day 
remand in Abdullah Siddique killing case.

The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of police arrested SM Kamal 
Haider early today.

Abdullah Siddique was shot and killed in Dhanmandi area while taking part in 
a anti-discrimination student movement rally on August 4 last year.
