DHAKA, May 20, 2025 (BSS) – A court here today sent singer Mainul Ahsan Noble to jail, scrapping his bail plea in a case lodged for keeping a girl confined in his Demra home for seven months and raping her there.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Zia Uddin Ahmed passed the order as police produced Noble and pleaded to keep him behind bars until the end of the probe.

Police arrested Mainul Ahsan Noble, who gained fame for his appearance on the Indian reality show "Sa Re Ga Ma Pa," from his Demra Staff Quarter home at around 2 am today.

A horrendous video of Noble running after and catching a girl on the stairs of his home, and dragging her up by her hair and beating her, went viral recently. Parents of the girl, a former student of Eden Mohila College, recognised their daughter from the video and called the national emergency service 999.

Police rescued her from Noble’s Demra house last night. The girl later filed the case with the Demra Police Station.
