Court attaches more properties of Nafeez Sarafat, family members

DHAKA, May 20, 2025 (BSS) - A court here today ordered to attach some more flats and plots owned by former Padma Bank chairman Chowdhury Nafeez Sarafat, his wife Anjuman Ara Shahid and son Chowdhury Rahib Safwan Sarafat over graft allegations.

Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Md Zakir Hossain Galib passed the order allowing a plea of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).
 
Confirming the matter to newsmen, ACC deputy director (Public Relations) Akterul Islam said the court ordered to attach six flats and one-half share of another flat, two houses, including one 20-storied building, and a total of eight plots in the name of Nafeez, five flats and three plots in the Anjuman and seven flats in the name of Rahib. The properties are situated in Dhaka, Narayanganj and Gazipur.

The court on January 7, 2025, had ordered the authorities concerned to attach different properties, including 18 flats of Chowdhury Nafeez Sarafat, his wife Anjuman Ara Shahid and son Chowdhury Rahib Safwan Sarafat.
 
On January 22, 2025, it ordered the authorities concerned to attach two flats in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE), owned by Chowdhury Nafeez Sarafat. The two flats are situated in "The Signature" and "Damac Hills" apartment complexes in a posh neighbourhood of Dubai.
