Two fugitives in Rajshahi murder case arrested in Ctg

CHATTOGRAM, May 20, 2025 (BSS) - Two fugitives accused in a murder case at the Bagmara police station area of Rajshahi were arrested during a joint operation in the city's Bakalia thana today.
 
The arrested individuals were Khurshed Alam and Bhutu Pramanik, both residents of Atrai upazila in Naogaon district.

Confirming the arrests, Acting Deputy Director of the Media Wing of RAB-7 Major Sadman Shakib, stated that based on intelligence, a joint operation was carried out around 12.30am on Monday night at Rahattarpul area under Bakalia thana and arrested the accused fugitives.
 
He said, a conflict arose between Aminul Islam and Abdur Razzak Pramanik due to previous enmity. During the clash, Aminul allegedly attacked Razzak with a sharp weapon while attempting to flee. Locals apprehended Aminul and, before police could intervene, a mob abducted and brutally beat him to death using sticks and bricks.

Following the incident, a murder case was filed at Bagmara Police Station against 1,120 unidentified individuals. Khurshed and Bhutu are among those accused in the case.

The arrested men have been handed over to Chandgaon Police Station for further legal procedures.
