DHAKA, May 21, 2025 (BSS) – Police in separate raids arrested four individuals in the sensational Alvi murder case from the capital’s Dhanmondi and Hazaribagh Thana areas in the last four days.

The arrested have been identified as Md. Raihan (20), Md. Habibur Rahman Munna (26), Samati Pal (23) and Kausar (21).

Earlier on May 16, Samiur Rahman Khan Alvi, a third-year honors student at Dr. Maleka University College, and his three friends Md. Ashraful Islam, Md. Zakaria and Md. Ismail Hossain were critically stabbed following previous enmity at Jigatola under Hazaribagh Police Station.

When the locals took them to Dhaka Medical College Hospital in serious condition, the on-duty doctor declared Alvi dead at 9:05 pm on the same day.  Alvi’s three friends are currently undergoing treatment at the hospital.

A murder case was filed with Hazaribagh Police Station in this connection.

The arrestees during initial interrogation confessed that they killed Alvi due to previous enmity, police said.
