Ex-BCL leader Tanzil on five-day remand in Maruf murder case

TANGAIL, May 22, 2025 (BSS) - Mir Wasedul Haque Tanjil, former president of the banned student organisation BCL Tangail district unit, was placed on a five-day remand in connection with Maruf murder case.

Tanzil was produced before the court of Senior Judicial Magistrate Md Golam Mahbub Khan today, seeking a seven-day remand for proper investigation of the case.

After a hearing, the court ordered to put him on remand for five days.

Tanvir Ahmed, officer-in-charge (OC) of Tangail Sadar thana, said, "Tanzil was arrested from the Uttara-Diabari area on the basis of intelligence information and tracking his mobile phone.

He has been accused in six cases, including two murders during last year's July-August uprising, the OC added.
