DINAJPUR, May 22, 2025 (BSS) - BNP Standing Committee Member Dr AZM Zahid Hossain today made call for the swift return of power to the people, emphasizing that they should have the authority to decide who will lead Bangladesh in future.

“Return people’s power to the people without delay. It is the people who must decide who will lead the tomorrow’s Bangladesh," he said.

Dr Zahid made this remark while addressing a workers’ meeting organized by Hakimpur Upazila and Pourasabha units of BNP here at Hakimpur Women College Hall Room.

He stressed the importance of trusting the people, asserting that governing the country under the influence of a foreign entity is unacceptable and will not be tolerated by the citizens.

The BNP Standing Committee member questioned, "Why you are so afraid of the people? What holds you back from reaching out to them? Why it’s so hard to return the people's power to the people?”

“The people of this country entrusted you with responsibility out of their love. But, you should remember that in a land of constant change, favorable times do not last forever,” he said.

He added, “Our patience has its limits. Learn to read the writing on the wall. Only those who have stood by the people in both their joys and struggles will truly belong in this country."

With Hakimpur Upazila BNP President Ferdous Rahman in the chair, District BNP Adviser Akram Hossain, Upazila BNP Vice President Shahinur Islam, General Secretary Sakhawat Hossain, Purasabha BNP President Farid Khan, and General Secretary Nazmul Haque, among others, were present.
