DHAKA, May 22, 2025 (BSS) - Senior Secretary of the Land Ministry ASM Saleh Ahmed today said the government was committed to establish a land service system free from harassment.

“We’re committed to establishing harassment-free, user-friendly land services,” he said at a function organized marking Bhumi Mela 2025 at the Land Ministry today.

He said they have been working to transform the land management system into a complete digital system.

“To achieve this, land developers have taken various technological steps in land management, including land registration, land development, and land collection and management,” he said.

Any citizen can avail services from any place of residence or any time of the day or night (24/7) through the Citizen Land Service Center, he said.

“People will not have to go to the land audit office. NID will be used to register land,” he said.

The land secretary said that the percentage of land development tax collected online across the country has increased manifold.

The senior secretary also informed about the formulation of policies to protect agricultural land, he said.

The theme of this year's Bhumi Mela is 'Pay Land Development Tax Regularly, Keep Your Land Safe'.
