Sonargaon upazila BNP leader Abdur Rahman passes away

DHAKA, May 22, 2025 (BSS) –Haji Abdur Rahman Munshi, Vice-President of  Sonargaon upazila unit of  Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) under Narayanganj district, passed away while undergoing treatment at Green Life Hospital in capital's Dhanmondi this afternoon.

He died at 4:10 PM at the age of 78, family and hospital sources said.


Haji Abdur Rahman Munshi was a popular political figure in the region for his dedication to grassroots level politics and his long-standing commitment to the ideals of BNP. 


He played a pivotal role in strengthening the party’s organizational activities in Sonargaon and was widely admired for his integrity and leadership.


In a message of condolence, BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has expressed profound shock and sorrow at his death. 

 He conveyed his heartfelt sympathy   to the bereaved family and prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul.
