DHAKA, May 24, 2025 (BSS) – A Dhaka court today sent former General Secretary of Savar Upazila Mohila Awami League (AL) Salma Akhtar in a murder case filed during July uprising.

 The Chief Judicial Magistrate, Dhaka today passed the order after rejecting her bail prayer.
 Salma Akhtar was also the former member of reserved word of Ashulia Union under Savar upazila.

Police on Friday arrested Salma from her Basaid area under Ashulia Union as she is accused of gunning down a readymade garment worker (32) during the anti-discrimination student movement in Ashulia, on the outskirts of the capital, on August 5.
