DHAKA, May 25, 2025 (BSS) - A court here today imposed a travel ban on former
environment, forest and climate change minister Saber Hossain Chowdhury, his
wife Rehan Chowdhury, sons Hamdad Hossain and Araj Alam and daughters Raima
Chowdhury and Alisha Babar Chowdhury.

Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Md Zakir Hossain Galib passed the
order, allowing a plea of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).

The anti-graft body in its plea said the commission is probing allegations of
amassing huge illegal wealth through corruption and misusing political
influence.

"During the probe, information on different immovable properties were found
in their names in home and abroad, especially in Canada, the US and the UK.
The accused may try to flee the country to evade justice and that is why a
travel ban should be imposed on them," the plea added.
