CID to probe case against 3 ex-ACC chairmen

DHAKA, May 25, 2025 (BSS) - A court here today ordered Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to probe a case filed against four officials of the Anti- Corruption Commission (ACC) including its three former chairmen.

The accused in the case are- former ACC Chairmen Lieutenant General (Retd) Hasan Mashhud Chowdhury, Habibur Rahman and Abul Hasan Manzoor and former secretary of the commission Mokhlesur Rahman, court sources said.

Dhaka Additional Metropolitan Magistrate Ziadur Rahman passed the order after recording the statement of the plaintiff Harunur Rashid.

The plaintiff filed the plea on May 18 to record his allegation as a regular case. He accused the three former ACC chairmen of harassing BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia and its Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman by filing a case against them on false allegations.
