DHAKA, May 25, 2025 (BSS) - The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has launched a series of enforcement raids targeting alleged corruption, harassment and irregularities across various institutions in the country.
A major operation was carried out today at the head office of Sonali Life Insurance Company, following numerous complaints from general customers regarding harassment and misconduct.
The ACC enforcement team conducted on-site inspections, collected relevant documents and recorded statements from several service recipients.
Officials also offered immediate guidance to the company to enhance customer service standards.
A three-member ACC team raided the Puthia Upazila Health Complex in Rajshahi district, responding to reports of medical service irregularities and patient harassment.
During the operation, the team engaged in discussions with the Thana Health Officer (THO) and closely monitored hospital activities.
Several unsigned receipts for pathological test fees were found in the possession of patients.
The ACC advised the Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer to take corrective action based on complaints received.
Patients present during the operation expressed strong support for the ACC's intervention.
Simultaneously, the Pabna Integrated District Office of the ACC conducted an enforcement operation in Belkuchi Upazila of Sirajganj district, investigating complaints of substandard materials used in the construction of a bridge over the Hurasagor River.
The team visited the site and arranged for an independent engineer to take structural measurements. A detailed report will be submitted to the Commission upon review of the engineer's findings.
