Chhatra Dal continues tree plantation campaign across country

DHAKA, June 16, 2025 (BSS) - Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD), a student wing of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), continued its tree plantation programme with planting saplings in different districts including Dhaka, Mymensingh, Sherpur, and other parts of the country.

As part of a 15-day tree plantation campaign, announced by central JCD in line with the direction of BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman on the occasion of World Environment Day, 2025, the student organization arranged the programmes in different districts yesterday.

During this time, saplings of different species of flowers, fruits and medicinal plants were planted.

BNP leaders and activists are implementing the countrywide tree plantation campaign to protect the environment with Tarique Rahman's determination to build a green Bangladesh. 

Tarique Rahman issued a message on the occasion of the World Environment Day on June 5, highlighting his vision and plans to prevent environmental pollution.

BNP Media Cell on its Facebook page said Dhaka South City unit of Chhatra Dal planted trees at Demra University College Campus and Demra Police Station yesterday. 

A tree plantation programme was also implemented at Kamar Char College by Sherpur Sadar Upazila unit of Chhatra Dal. 

Mymensingh City unit of Chhatra Dal planted a sapling naming after Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman identifying as 'Zia tree' on the premises of the Government Teachers Training College, Mymensingh (Male) Campus, as well.
