DHAKA, June 16, 2025 (BSS) - Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) has launched a special mosquito eradication programme titled 'Clean School: No Mosquito', aiming to control the spread of Aedes mosquitoes and prevent dengue outbreaks.

The programme was inaugurated this morning at Tejgaon Model High School and will be implemented across all 54 wards under the DNCC until June 21.

A baseline survey conducted by DNCC found that the reproduction of Aedes and other mosquito species increased significantly on the premises of closed school and college buildings during the Eid holidays.

In response to the situation, DNCC initiated this special programme to eliminate mosquitoes and their potential breeding grounds in and around educational institutions.

Under the initiative, spraying and application of larvicides will be carried out to kill adult mosquitoes and larvae across a total of 1,244 school and college campuses within the DNCC area.
