Jamaat holds meeting with int'l human rights organisation delegation

DHAKA, June 16, 2025 (BSS) - The central leaders of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-
Islami today held a meeting with a three-member delegation of International 
Human Rights Organisation at its central office in the city's Moghbazar area 
this morning.

Nayeb-e-Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami and former Member of Parliament (MP) from 
Comilla-12 constituency Dr. Syed Abdullah Muhammad Taher, central executive 
council member and central publicity and Media division secretary Advocate 
Matiur Rahman Akanda and Jamaat-e-Islami European spokesperson Barrister Abu 
Bakar Mollah, among others, attended the meeting.

The visiting International Human rights representatives also praised after 
informing the party's constructive and responsible role under overall 
political situation of Bangladesh and also the party's organisational system, 
constructive infrastructure, activities and its presence up to the grass-root 
level.

The human rights delegation also expressed their hopes that the party will 
play an effective role in future to develop the human rights situation in 
Bangladesh.

After the meeting, the delegation also visited different departments of the 
party's central office and made a courtesy call with Jamaat Amir Dr Shafiqur 
Rahman.

The delegation members of the human rights organisations are-secretary 
general of No Peace Without Justice Niccolò Figa-Talamanca , International Lawyer and 
Accountability Expert Pascal Tarlan and International Human Rights Law expert 
and former Director of Amnesty International Abbas Fayez.
