Barrister Taposh's close aid Khorshed remanded in murder case

DHAKA, June 17, 2025 (BSS) - A court here today placed Md Khorshed Alam, a 
close associate of former Dhaka South City Corporation mayor Barrister Fazle 
Noor Taposh in a case lodged over the murder of one Abdullah Siddique during 
the July-August mass uprising.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate MA Azharul Islam passed the order as police 
produced Khorshed, 48, before the court and pleaded to place him on a seven-
day remand.

Md Khorshed Alam was arrested by a team of Criminal Investigation Department 
(CID) from the capital's Sukrabad area under Dhanmondi Police Station in the 
early hours of today.

According to the case documents, Abdullah Siddique joined an anti-
discrimination student rally in the city's Jigatola area on August 5, 2024. 
When the programme came under attack, Abdullah got shot and died from his 
injuries later. 

The case was filed on September 19 last with Dhanmondi Police Station.
