DHAKA, June 17, 2025 (BSS) - A court here today imposed a travel ban on three
people from Chattogram for abetting former land minister Saifuzzaman
Chowdhury Javed in his financial crimes including money laundering.

Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Md Zakir Hossain Galib passed the
order, allowing a plea of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).

The three people, who have been barred from leaving the country, are- Utpal
Paul, Abdul Aziz and Syed Kamruzzaman.

The ACC in its plea said a taskforce has been formed to probe the allegations
against Saifuzzaman, people and companies related to him.

During the primary investigation, it was learned the former minister took
huge amounts of money as loan from different banks and laundered the sum
abroad with the help of these three people, it added.

"As the three are on the run, they could not be interrogated and a travel ban
should be imposed on them immediately to deter them from leaving the
country," the ACC plea added.
