Jamaat-e-Islami delegation holds meeting with US embassy deputy counselor in Dhaka

DHAKA, June 17, 2025 (BSS)- A delegation of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami held a meeting with Matthew Bay, deputy counselor for political and economic affairs of the United States Embassy in Dhaka, this afternoon (June 17).

The discussion, held at the US Embassy, focused on internal democratic practices within Jamaat-e-Islami, including leadership selection, organisational structure, decision-making transparency, and the party's stance on the rights of women and minority communities. 

Political Officers Hermanaskey and Jamie Stelly were also present during the meeting.

Jamaat-e-Islami Nayeb-e-Ameer and former Member of Parliament Dr Syed Abdullah Md Taher and Central Executive Council Member and Secretary of the Central Publicity and Media Department Advocate Matiur Rahman Akand were present on behalf of the party.
