KHULNA, June 17, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General and former Member of Parliament Professor Mia Golam Parwar has said that the upcoming national election will be a fight to protect the country's independence and sovereignty from hegemonic forces.

Speaking as the chief guest at an Eid rally organized by Jamaat-e-Islami at Batmul in Shahpur Bazar, Dumuria Upazila of Khulna district this afternoon, he described the election as a major challenge for Islamists including his party.

"The upcoming polls will be a stand against the ongoing oppression and torture faced by patriotic people, including scholars, ulema, and Pir-Mashayekh," Parwar said, calling on supporters to remain united in the face of adversity.
