Journs play role in presenting true picture of judiciary: AG

DHAKA, July 8, 2025 (BSS) - Attorney General Md. Asaduzzaman today said journalist community, especially members of the Law Reporters Forum, are playing important role in presenting true picture of judiciary and court matters before the nation.

He made the comment while speaking as the chief guest at the installation ceremony of the new committee of the Law Reporters Forum, an organization of journalists on law, justice, constitution and human rights.

The Attorney General said that the Law Reporters Forum is presenting the Supreme Court and the legal arena in such a way that even if someone wants to commit corruption in this arena, they think about it.

Supreme Court Bar Association President Barrister AM Mahbub Uddin Khokon said Law Reporters Forum members are not ordinary journalists rather they have vast knowledge on judiciary.

BNP's Legal Affairs Secretary and Nationalist Lawyers Forum Secretary General Barrister Kaiser Kamal called upon all journalists to work sincerely for the betterment of the people.

Newly elected president of LRF Hasan Jabed chaired the event which was moderated by general secretary Moniruzzaman Mishion.

Former senior district and sessions judge Shahjahan Saju, former secretary of the Supreme Court Bar Barrister Badruddoza Badal, former deputy attorney general Motahar Hossain Saju, organizing secretary of the Nationalist Lawyers Forum Gazi Kamrul Islam Sajal, Barrister Sheikh Ali Ahmed Khokon, Mohammad Shishir Manir, member secretary of the Supreme Court Unity of the Nationalist Lawyers Forum Gazi Touhidur Rahman, training affairs secretary of the forum Md. Maqsud Ullah, member secretary of the Supreme Court Legal Aid Committee Jamiul Haque Faisal, former presidents of Dhaka Reporters Unity Ilias Hossain and Nazrul Islam Mithu, among others also spoke.

Former presidents Saleh Uddin Ahmed, Ashutosh Sarkar, Sayeed Ahmed Khan, Mashhudul and founding member secretary Kazi Abdul Hannan, as well as members of the Law Reporters Forum were present at the event.
