KU students win national title in 'Three-Zero Club Ideation Challenge 2025'

KHULNA, July 8, 2025 (BSS) - A student’s team from Khulna University "Eco Sentinels Bangladesh," has earned national recognition by becoming the champion of the Three-Zero Club Ideation Challenge 2025.

Jointly organized by the City Bank, North South University, and the Yunus Centre, the competition centered on three global goals- zero carbon emissions, zero unemployment, and zero waste.

Out of more than 200 teams from various universities across the country, the KU team stood out for their outstanding innovation and creative thinking. 

The team from Khulna University impressed the judges with their unique ideas, practical solutions, and creative presentation. 

Their winning project proposed sustainable methods for environmental conservation, renewable energy use, and waste management, designed to be feasible in both urban and rural settings, aligning with the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The team members are - Md. Rezwanul Islam Shuvo and Sabbir Ahmad (Environmental Science, KU, batch '20), Antara Das (Development Studies, KU, batch '21), Md Robiul Hossain (Economics, University of Chittagong).

On Monday, the winning team paid a courtesy visit to Khulna University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Rezaul Karim, who congratulated them warmly. 

During the meeting the VC congratulated them and said through this success the university's prestige was elevated. “It has been proved that KU students are not just academically capable but also committed to solving real-world problems with innovation and empathy,” he added.

During the meeting, the team shared their experiences and future plans, expressing gratitude for the university’s encouragement and support. 

Toma Dash (Development Studies, KU, batch '20) and Mehenaz Afrin Khan Jhilik (Fisheries & Marine Resource Technology, KU, batch '21, were also present at the event.
