DAB members provide treatment to helpless Ariful Islam

DHAKA, Aug 11, 2025 (BSS) – Members of Doctors Association of Bangladesh (DAB) today provided treatment to Ariful Islam whose mother sold her land to bear his treatment cost.

Ariful Islam, who was paralyzed after being injured in an accident in 2023, has been undergoing treatment at Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College and Hospital in the capital, said a press release. 

At the directive of BNP Acting Chairman and Ziaur Rahman Foundation (ZRF) President Tarique Rahman, DAB members went to the hospital to decide on Arif's post-leave medicine and further treatment after three months of treatment there. 

They conveyed the message of sympathy of BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman to the mother of helpless Ariful Islam.

Under the supervision of ZRF Executive Director Prof Dr. Farhad Halim Doner and with the assistance of ZRF Rehabilitation Committee Convener Dr. Shah Muhammad Amanullah, BNP’s Health Affairs Assistant Secretary and ZRF Rehabilitation Committee Member Secretary Dr. Parvez Reza Kakon went to the hospital.

Pediatrician Assistant Professor Dr. Md. Faruk Ahmed, Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College & Hospital physicians Dr. M. R. Hasan, Dr. Hasibur Rahman, Dr. Adnan Ahsan Chowdhury, Nafis Bin Shamim, Naziur Naeem, Shahriar Rahman Shakil, Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University agriculturist Md. Morsalin Khandaker Anik, Md. Maruf Hasan, Md. Khairul Islam Shaon, among others, were present.

After learning about the news that a mother sold her land to bear the treatment cost of her son, Amra BNP Paribar immediately stood by the mother by providing financial assistance. 

In continuation of that, the DAB members provided treatment to Ariful Islam.
