24 get police jobs in Lakshmipur spending Tk 120

LAKSHMIPUR, Sept 10, 2025 (BSS) - Twenty four youths got jobs as police constable in the district through a transparent recruitment process paying only Taka 120 (application fee).

Those who got jobs by spending only Taka 120 were found overwhelmed and emotional.

Immediately after the publication of the result list, the successful candidates and their relatives expressed their happiness with tears of joy. 

According to the district police sources, the verification and selection process for the post of police constable started for two days from 14th to 
15th of last August.

After the selection process, 910 job seekers from different upazilas of the district applied for the post of constable. 

Then, 221 people took part in the written examination on August 29. Of them, the results of 47 were declared on Wednesday morning. 

Later, the oral examination was held. After the oral examination, the district police administration released the final results for 24 people. 

Superintendent of Police Md. Akhter Hossain said, "The meritorious and qualified candidates have been evaluated on the basis of transparency in accordance with all the rules. We have only worked to ensure the eligibility of the qualified candidates." 

He said, "Many people have the idea that a job in the police means bribery and lobbying. But we want to change that idea. We have to build a new country with accountability, transparency and fairness. Everyone has to work together in this regard."
