Dr Shafiqur congratulates elected candidates of DUCSU polls

DHAKA, Sept 10, 2025 (BSS) – Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman today extended congratulations to the winners of the Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (DUCSU) and Hall Union elections, as well as to all those involved in the polls.

In a congratulatory message, he said the DUCSU elections were held yesterday, where Dhaka University students participated peacefully in a festive atmosphere.

“I congratulate all those who were elected in these elections. I hope they will rise above party identity and fulfill their duties as true representatives of the student community,” Dr. Shafiqur said.

He also expressed gratitude to the interim government, university authorities, law enforcement agencies, journalists, and others who were involved in the election process.

Meanwhile, the Jamaat Ameer expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of journalist Tariqul Islam, a reporter of private satellite TV Channel S, who died while covering the DUCSU election yesterday.

He prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed profound sympathy to the bereaved family.
