BGB seizes 2.80 lakh yaba from Cox's Bazar

DHAKA, Sept 10, 2025 (BSS) - The Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) personnel on Tuesday seized 2.80 lakh pieces of contraband yaba tablets from Ukhiya Upzila of Cox's Bazar district.
 
A team of BGB's Ukhiya Battalion (64) BGB challenged 10-12 people coming from Myanmar adjacent to BGB pillar number 21 under Balukhali BOP of Cox's Bazar around 9:30 pm on Tuesday, said a BGB press release.
 
Sensing danger, the people managed to flee the scene leaving behind two packets wrapped with polythene, the release said. 
 
BGB personnel later seized 2.80 lakh pieces of yaba pills from the packets, it added. 
 
The seized yaba tablets were handed over to Ukhiya Police Station. 
 
Legal action was taken in this connection.
