DHAKA, Sept 11, 2025 (BSS) - Detective Branch (DB) of police has arrested Motazzerul Islam Mithu, the mastermind of corruption in the health sector during the Awami League (AL) regime, from the capital's Gulshan area.
A team of DB-Wari division arrested Mithu in a raid conducted at Gulshan area around 11:10 pm on Wednesday.
Deputy Commissioner of DB (Media) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), Muhammad Talebur Rahman, confirmed this today.
Mithu has a case with the Anti-Corruption Commission on charges of tender fraud, formation of a syndicate, money laundering and illegal acquisition of wealth in the health sector.
