Four AL men held in city

DHAKA, Sept 11, 2025 (BSS) - The Detective Branch (DB) of police has arrested four leaders and activists of the Awami League (AL) and its associate organisation from different parts of the capital for their suspected link to destabilize the country by bringing out flash processions.
 
The arrested have been identified as Hedayet Ullah Sarkar, 40, former general secretary of Dhaka University (DU) Shahidullah Hall Chhatra League unit and former vice-president of Bangladesh Chhatra League central committee, Dhaka North City Awami Jubo League vice-president Md. Gias Uddin, 58, Mymensingh District Awami League joint-general secretary Md. Sharif Hasan Anu, 53, and Taltoli Upazila Awami League organizing secretary of Barguna district A. Razzak, 47.
 
Hedayet Ullah Sarkar, Md. Gias Uddin, Sharif Hasan Anu and A. Razzak were arrested from Donia under Jatrabari Police Station, Rupnagar Police Station, Gulshan Purbapara and Ramna in the capital on Wednesday, said a police press release here today. 
 
Cases have been filed against all arrestees with various police stations on specific charges.
