One held with 17 gold bars in Jashore

JASHORE, Sept 11, 2025 (BSS) - Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), in a drive, 
arrested a man with 17 gold bars worth over Taka 3.8 crore from Darajhat area 
on the Jashore-Narail highway this morning.

The arrested was Sanjay Sarkar, 37, son of Akhil Sarkar of Dhuljhora village 
under Boalmari upazila in Faridpur district.

Being informed, a BGB team conducted a drive in the area around 11.30 am and 
arrested Sanjoy and recovered the gold bars weighing one kilogram (Kg) 934 
grams after searching his body, said Jashore BGB-49 Battalion Commander 
Lieutenant Colonel Saifullah Siddiqui.
 
The detained Sanjay has been handed over to the Jashore Kotwali Police 
Station and a case has been filed in this regard, he added.
