Govt. nominates Matiur Rahman Chow as press council member

DHAKA, Sept 11, 2025 (BSS) - The government has nominated Chief Editor of the Daily Manabzamin Matiur Rahman Chowdhury as a member of the Bangladesh Press Council.

The Information and Broadcasting Ministry issued a notification in this regard yesterday saying Matiur Rahman Chowdhury will represent the editors’ council of the newspapers and new agencies. 

It said Matiur Rahman Chowdhury will replace New Age Editor Nurul Kabir who resigned earlier from the post.

The tenure of the newly appointed member will remain effective until the present council’s remain period.

Earlier, the government nominated 12 distinguished persons as members of the Bangladesh Press Council.
