DHAKA, Oct 23, 2025 (BSS) - Speakers at a discussion today emphasized that the main goal of political parties should be the realization of the aspirations of the July Uprising, not merely the pursuit of power.

They stressed that the sacrifices of those who gave their lives or were maimed during the uprising should not be forgotten for political gain.

They made the call at a discussion organized by Amar Bangladesh Party (AB Party) and United Peoples (UP) Bangladesh at the capital’s Far East auditorium.

The speakers called for building broader unity based on the spirit of July.

Amar Desh editor Mahmudur Rahman was the main speaker in the discussion with AB Party Chairman Mojibur Rahman Manju in the chair.   

Hasnat Kaiyum, President of Rashtra Sangskar Andolon; Professor Dr. Waresul Karim Bulbul, Dean of Business Faculty, North South University; Ali Ahsan Junaid, convener of UP Bangladesh; AB Party Senior Vice President Professor Dr. Major (Retd.) Abdul Wahab Minar and General Secretary Barrister Asaduzzaman Fuad; UP Bangladesh Member Secretary Arefin Hizbullah; Chief Coordinator Rafe Salman Rifat; AB Party Joint General Secretary Barrister Nasrin Sultana Mili; and Rashtra Sangskar Andolon leader Didar Bhuiya spoke on the occasion, among others.
