DHAKA, Oct 25, 2025 (BSS) –Gulshan Thana police have arrested nine drug traders and seized foreign liquor worth over Tk 67 lakh during a raid in the capital’s Gulshan area.

The arrestees are Syed Asif, 24, Md. Rakib Khan, 20, Tanvir Ahmed, 28, Nayon Chakraborty, 28, Md. Bellal Hawlader, 40, Md. Zahirul Islam, 33, Sagor Nokrek, 27, Saiful Islam Rocky, 34 and Mehedi Hasan Shikder, 40.

A press release of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), signed by Deputy Commissioner of Police (Media and Public Relations Division) of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police Muhammad Talebur Rahman, today confirmed the matter. 

Police conducted the operation at Bliss Art Lounge Ltd. Restaurant & Bar on South Gulshan Avenue at 11:30 p.m. on Thursday (October 23).

According to Gulshan Thana sources, the restaurant had permission to sell only five local liquor brands from Carew & Company but was illegally stocking and selling various foreign brands.

During the raid, police recovered 866 bottles of foreign liquor worth Tk 67.91 lakh and arrested nine individuals.

A case has been filed under the Narcotics Control Act with Gulshan Police Station and legal action against the arrestees is underway, said the release.
