Man held for creating panic by showing dummy rifle in city

DHAKA, Oct 25, 2025 (BSS) - Turag police arrested a man for allegedly displaying a dummy rifle during a procession and causing panic among the public.

The arrestee has been identified as Mujahidul Islam Chowdhury (49), said a police press release. 

Police arrested Mujahidul at a house in sector number 12 under Uttara West Police Station along with the dummy rifle around 4:30 pm on Friday following secret information. 

Later by analyzing video footage recorded by locals and through interrogation, police identified Mujahidul as one of the individuals involved in displaying rifle what appeared to be illegal weapons and attempting to disrupt public order during mass gathering.
 
A case was filed today against Mujahidul under the Anti-Terrorism Act against Turag Police Station.
